Baptisia

Baptisia is a plant that would be happy in almost any garden and it brings with it a show of indigo-blue, yellow or bi-color flower spikes. The long-lasting flowers hover like a cloud over the pretty blue-green foliage.

The standard variety “Baptisia Austrailia” is popular with Potting Shed Customers, but baptisia comes in more shades than just blue and we also offer light yellow “Solar Flare” that turns orange as the blooms fade.

Another striking variety we have is  “Twilite Prarieblues,” with shades of rusty purple and yellow.

The large plants can grow to shrub size, up to 48 inches tall, and they are easy-care native plants that need little maintenance. Baptisia prefers full sun and is drought tolerant once established.

Baptisia is a long-lived perennial will bring a spot of color and height wherever you place it in your garden: as a background plant in a perennial border, a companion in the rose garden, or even as a specimen plant along a sidewalk or house foundation.

For more information on this sturdy and versatile plant, come visit us and see our Baptisia in person.
